Apple pie : One of most delicious food, but don’t know how to cook , lear

Apple pie is a classic and comforting dessert that features a flaky crust filled with sweet and spiced apple filling. Here’s a delicious recipe to make a homemade apple pie:

For the pie crust:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 6 to 8 tablespoons ice-cold water

For the apple filling:

  • 6 to 7 medium-sized apples (a mix of sweet and tart varieties like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

For the egg wash (optional):

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk or water

For the pie crust:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and granulated sugar together.
  2. Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with pea-sized butter pieces.
  3. Slowly add the ice-cold water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing with a fork or your hands until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overwork the dough.
  4. Divide the dough into two equal portions, shape them into disks, and wrap each disk in plastic wrap. Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours before rolling.

For the apple filling:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Toss the apple mixture until the apples are evenly coated with the sugar and spices.

Assembling and baking the apple pie:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Take one of the chilled pie dough disks out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes to make rolling easier.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a circle large enough to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough to the pie dish and gently press it into the bottom and sides.
  4. Trim any excess dough hanging over the edges of the pie dish.
  5. Pour the apple filling into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly. Dot the top of the filling with small pieces of butter.
  6. Roll out the second pie dough disk into a circle and use it to cover the apple filling. You can leave it as a full crust or create a lattice design with strips of dough.
  7. Seal the edges of the top and bottom crusts together, then crimp the edges with your fingers or a fork to create a decorative border.
  8. If desired, whisk together the egg and milk or water to create an egg wash. Brush the top crust with the egg wash to achieve a shiny finish.
  9. Cut a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape while baking.
  10. Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbly.
  11. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 1 to 2 hours before serving.

Enjoy your homemade apple pie warm or at room temperature. It’s delicious on its own or served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Apple pie is a timeless treat that’s perfect for any occasion or season!
