Jawan (transl. The soundtrack is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who would mark his debut as a solo composer in Bollywood, previously having composed a song for David and the background score of Jersey.[72] Initially, A. R. Rahman was reportedly approached by director Atlee to compose for the film.Rahman subsequently declined the offer for reasons unknown, and Anirudh was chosen to compose for the film.The music rights were bagged by T-Series for ₹36 crore, which was a record price for a Hindi album.
The track “Jawan Prevue Theme”, featured in the two-minute promo video, was released on 10 July 2023.It had rap written and performed by Raja Kumari, with Anirudh and BNiznik performing. The first single titled “Zinda Banda” was released on 31 July 2023 It garnered over 46 million views within 24 hours, setting an all-time record for most viewed Indian song in 24 hours.[80] The second single titled “Chaleya” was released on 14 August 2023. The third single titled “Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya” was released on 29 August 2023. It garnered over 53 million views within 24 hours, becoming most viewed Indian song in 24 hours, surpassing record held by “Zinda Banda”. The film’s grand audio launch was held on 30 August 2023 at Sri Sai Ram Engineering College, Chennai. On 31 August 2023, an Arabic version of the song “Chaleya” was released under the title “Chaleya Arabic” at an event held at the Burj Khalifa.
